Strategic Planning for 2008
1. Continue to support and celebrate the achievements of the Overcoming Hurdles in Ohio statewide youth advisory board. They are the 'alumni of tomorrow,' and it is an honor to support their efforts.
2. Support the establishment of alumni peer support groups in at at least two Ohio counties; Stark and Cuyahoga.
3. Assist PCSAO with the Franklin County mentoring project, funded by Child Welfare League of America's "Fostering Healthy Connections through Peer Mentoring" grant.
4. Provide ongoing training for youth, alumni and allies, including the IHS annual 'Train the Trainer' event, the CO-OHIO Youth Advocate Services conference and trainings for young people involved in statewide and/or regional foster care youth advisory boards.
5. Continue to serve as partners to support the Independent Living Survey pilot project in Lucas County.
By the end of the year, we would also like to plan two annual fundraising activities for 2009, which will take place in May (Foster Care Month) and November (National Adoption Awareness Month)

Our Goals for 2007
During 2007, alumni and allies in Ohio had three primary focus areas:
1. Supporting the goals and efforts of the O.H.I.O. (Overcoming Hurdles in Ohio) Youth Advisory Board.
2. Designing trainings and workshops, based upon alumni insight.
3. Establishing statewide connections throughout Ohio between child welfare professionals, foster parents, kinship care providers and people in and from foster care
We accomplished these goals by:
1. Attending the Montgomery County youth resource fair, Stark County youth forum and statewide Youth Advisory Board meetings in order to build relationships with young people and support their long-term goals.
2. Presenting at three statewide and one national conference, and being invited to present at future conferences in 2008.
3. Partnering with Lighthouse Youth Services, OACCA, OFCA, PCSAO and YEP on statewide initiatives such as the Ohio independent living summit, YEP youth housing conference, the OFCA foster parent conference and supporting the OHIO Youth Advisory Board.
